Garrykennedy Cottage on Lough Derg is a restored period cottage and coach house (built 1782) in the picturesque lakeside village of Garrykennedy, Nenagh, County Tipperary.
The Cottage featured on the FINE Living television channel in the US in the show "Around the World in 80 Homes".
The 18th century cottage is 100 yards from the lake. Private south-facing patio and country garden at back of house. Lake view to the front. Idyllic hideaway. Furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Warm cosy old-world atmosphere but with all conveniences. Stone and wood floors, big open fires, pine and beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls. Stunning Lough Derg scenery. Beautiful lakeside forest walks, fishing, sailing, swimming etc. Restaurant, pub, traditional music and village shop all nearby. Sleeps 8 comfortably in 4 bedrooms each with queen size beds.
The lakeside village of Garrykennedy, Co. Tipperary is 6 miles from Killaloe, 6 miles from Nenagh, 105 miles from Dublin and 37 miles from Shannon International Airport.

Saturday-to-Saturday Bookings Only: Incoming guests to arrive between 2:00pn and 4:00pm (GMT) Outgoing guests must vacate before 11:00am (GMT) Contact us to verify availability of the dates you require.
A non-refundable deposit of $500 (per week booked) is required to reserve the cottage. The balance of the rental fee is payable 3 Months before your date of arrival. Please see our website for full terms and conditions of rental and for further information.
If the Hirer wishes to cancel the Hire, written notice should be given to the Owner (via fax or email) not less than 3 months prior to the commencement of the Hire. If cancellation is notified less than 3 months prior to the commencement of the Hire the Hirer will be liable for payment of the full balance outstanding at such time, unless the Owner is successful in re-letting the Hire period in question. In all cases of cancellation any deposit is forfeited. It is recommeded that guests purchase insurance as needed to cover cancellation risk.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the vacation. Our expectations were exceeded. We really loved the comfort and charm of the cottage. Your garden is a beautiful spot - my wife enjoyed that area more than anything. The ambiance of the house led us to spend as much time as we could there - always nice to get back to. The people we met in the village were very friendly. Lots of pints bought for us in the pub (we reciprocated).You can’t beat the proximity to 2 village pubs and the lovely lake view. We took the boat trip on the lake from Killaloe. Went to Larkins Restaurant in the village (4 doors down from the Cottage) every night either for dinner, cocktail hour, or music sessions - GREAT. We enjoyed our stay immensely and have already recommended the cottage to our friends and family. We also would easily consider a stay for a return visit. The cottage and the village of Garrykennedy gave us exactly the chance we wanted... to stay in Ireland proper...among the Irish people... it offered an authentic visit and experience. I, personally, would have been happy with the entire time spent among the people who live in the village and those that visit its pubs and waterways on a daily basis. Everyone we met welcomed us to their home. The cottage offered just the right combination of comfort and representative charm of the years its seen (the same as the village). We had a truly fantastic time at the cottage. Thanks for your great "customer service". The cottage felt like a home, not like a rental property. Simple things made the difference like having truly comfy armchairs and sofas, good central heating, etc. The village of Garrykennedy is a blissful spot, great harbour, pubs etc. The house was spotless.
