Quilt Cottage
Note: for Online Booking, click the "More Information" link at the bottom of this page.
The Quilt Cottage is perfectly located on a wide, quiet tree-lined street just 4 blocks from Bozeman's downtown Main Street. Constructed in the early 1900's, this modest 2 bedroom home is comfortable and well appointed with high quality furnishings. If you need to stay in touch, it has high speed wireless internet, house phone, and full cable tv. The owners are avid quilters and their work is there for you to use and enjoy. Of course there is a washer/dryer, and a nice little back yard, off street parking and plenty of shade trees. Your time at the Quilt Cottage is sure to be peaceful and conveniently located to all the reasons people come to Bozeman! Its wide front porch provides for many quiet moments to watch life on tree-lined North Church Avenue. North Church is an exceptionally wide street, because a trolley line once ran down the center of the avenue. This area is the heart of Bozeman's northeast corner, a neighborhood built by the working class employees of the nearby brewery and railroad line in the early 1900s.
The house has recently been remodeled to add all the modern day luxuries as well as the quintessential front porch - a great place to catch some morning sun or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Big Sky Resort is just 50 miles to the south, Yellowstone Park is 90 miles, the town of Bozeman is a 5 minute walk, and Bridger Bowl Ski Area is just 16 miles north. The cottage was named for its many quilts made by owner Kathy Tamosaitis. Some are flannel for comfy relaxing on the couch on a cold night. Some were made by completing quilting projects left undone by others from the early and mid 20th century. The cottage is decorated with various oak antiques, many of which collected since the 1970s on the east coast from New York to North Carolina. Many collected items accent the house, such as the stone arrowhead collection over the TV. The various wood carvings are handmade, mostly during the 1980s and 90s. The oak mantle came out of a house in Maryland, while the white clock shelf over the TV came out of a house in New Britain, Connecticut.
