RENT DIRECTLY FROM OWNER. If you are looking for a great Sea Pines oceanfront home and if you want to be on the beach and look at the ocean all day, every day, Tidewatch is the place for you. The house is located in Sea Pines Plantation on the most desirable section of beach. We cater to families and we love children. Our goal is to provide you with a place to have a peaceful, relaxing vacation in a classic style Hilton Head beach house and provide you with everything you need to enjoy the ocean, the sun and Hilton Head Island. Rent directly from the owners (23 years experience) and get personal attention.

On the ground floor there is a large family room with bookcases, couch, loveseat, chairs, gametable, etc. a large television, VCR, DVD player and stereo with cassette and CD players. The family room has sliding glass doors with ocean views which open to a brick patio area. The first floor also has two bedrooms, one bedroom has one queen bed and the other first floor bedroom has two twin beds, a television and sliding doors looking towards the ocean. Each of the first floor bedrooms is served by its own private bath. Also on the first floor is covered parking with a 7' 2" clearance, high enough for minivans and most SUVs. There is also an outdoor shower/dressing room and a large laundry room with an iron, ironing board, double sink, two washers and two dryers. The upper floor contains the kitchen and eating area with seating for eight in the kitchen and four at a table off of the living area, a large living room with a cathedral ceiling, ceiling fan, television, VCR, DVD player, stereo with cassette and CD players, bookcase and comfortable seating with a couch, love seat and oversized chair. Also on the upper floor is the master bedroom with a king size bed, television, VCR and ceiling fan which overlooks the ocean, another oceanfront bedroom with two single beds which opens onto a sundeck with ocean views, and a fifth bedroom with a queen bed and bunkbeds. The master bedroom is served by its own private bath and the two second floor bedrooms on the opposite side of the house share a full bath. All 2nd floor bedrooms have ceiling fans and oversized closets. Lay back, relax and read one of over 600 books at the house or enjoy the ocean views from the screened porch that is approximately 42' by 12' across the front of the house. On the porch is a table that seats 8, a hammock, rockers, a swing and plenty of other seating. Off of the kitchen is a large deck with a Weber cooker, large gas grille and additional seating overlooking the landscaped front yard. There are also separate heat pumps and separate air conditioning controls for the first and second floors. The house has a circular driveway, a carport, and several parking areas which make it convenient for multiple vehicles to come and go without always moving cars. The house is on a very quiet dead-end street and has direct access to the miles of wonderful bike paths in Sea Pines. We are just a short bike ride from the Nature Preserve, horseback riding stables, Harbor Town, playgrounds and golf courses. The total number of guests is limited to twelve unless prior arrangements are made.

The kitchen, updated in 2001, is equipped with a dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, stove, microwave, silverware, dishes and glasses for 20, over 25 cookbooks and an individual ice maker and water dispenser separate from the refrigerator which comes in quite handy if it is either very warm or you have a number of small children. The kitchen is also fully stocked with everything you need for gourmet meals if you choose to cook. If you do have children, there are many books to read, games, puzzles, videos, DVDs and toys that are left at the house year-round. The Disney Channel is on all the televisions for the young vacationers and we have the Golf Channel for rainy days. In an effort to eliminate the grief and expense associated with renting or bringing children's items we provide a porta-crib, highchair, booster seat, bed rails, playpen, baby monitor, safety gates, three strollers, car seat, child size furniture and plenty of Little Tikes outdoor toys. There are also Styrofoam surfboards, fishing poles, tennis rackets, golf clubs and a crab net at the house, as well as plenty of beach toys. We also have indoor toys, games, puzzles and children's books. There is also a large landscaped yard between the house and the beach with a large sundeck, a curved beach walk constructed of splinter-free TREX decking and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the ocean views. Unlike the rental companies, we also provide plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, coolers and a beach umbrella. We have a membership which you can use at the Van Der Meer Tennis Club which is just outside the Sea Pines ocean gate. Van Der Meer has 28 courts, some clay and many of which are lighted for evening play. Our membership also entitles you to 2 hours of free tennis every day. They also have extensive teaching facilities.

We always encourage everyone to leave their work at home when coming to Hilton Head, but if you must stay in touch with the office we are the only rental home we know of that provides three separate phone lines. We have six 2-line telephones in the house and six separate dedicated "data only" phone jacks connected to a third line for use with laptop computers and we also provide a fax machine. The house has many other special amenities to make your vacation enjoyable.

We have preferred to handle the rentals ourselves and we have found that having direct contact with our guests has worked quite well. Over 95% of our families last year rented our house the preceding year and one family has rented from us for twenty-one years.
