Elk Bay House

Elegant but comfortable, this Chesapeake Bay home is perfect for families and groups of friends who want to relax in a quiet setting on the water that feels wonderfully remote, but is only 15 minutes from I-95, one hour from either Philadelphia or Baltimore. Renovated recently by the architect owner, it's porches and patio compliment the octagonal sunroom with vaulted ceiling and panoramic views of the Intercoastal waterway. The sunroom and living room, as well as the master bedroom, even the kitchen all have expansive views of the bay. Kids can use the octagonal lighthouse loft for playtime. On the edge of the woods near Elk Neck State Park, it's a natural space in a natural setting. Relax and watch the ships and sailboats glide by, or head down to your private pier and shorefront and fish or crab, or hop in your boat, (tie up here, and the public ramp is 10 minutes down the shoreline), and join in the watery fun. We have small boats available for you at extra cost. Hike or stroll the paths and shorelines in the State Park nearby, including the local favorite walk to the Turkey Point Lighthouse. The nearby villages of North East, Havre de Grace, and Chesapeake City have antiqueing, shops, museums, restaurants, marinas, history, golf, and lots of local special events, there is something almost every weekend. Play bocce on the lawn, relax in the hot tub, there are Satellite TV, VCR and DVD players, books and plenty of board games for rainy days. Day trips to the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, or Old City Philadelphia, even nearby New Castle, Delaware are an easy commute.
