Description of the Property
This is a charming cottage on a small island on Lake Cobbosseecontee, one of Maine's most beautiful large lakes. Loons and great blue herons nest nearby. There are floats on both front and back shores for viewing sunrises and sunsets, three hammocks and dozens of wind chimes in the trees. The fishing is outstanding. A small boat with motor is included with the rental and a slip at the motel/marina on the shore, five minutes from the island. An old canoe is also included. The location is 6 miles from Augusta the state capital where there are museums, libraries, a multiplex and a shopping mall and 4 miles from Hallowell on the Kennebec River with antiques and specialty shops. There are 8 other cottages on the island occupied by some very nice people. Rental includes linens, china, silver, complete kitchen supplies two outside tables with umbrellas and lots of lawn chairs. Downstairs there is a kitchen, dining room, bathroom and a large living room. Upstairs is a very large open space with three double beds and one single bed. All are separated by bamboo screens that drop from the ceiling for privacy and roll up easily to open up the space to breezes. There is a cupola on top of the house with windows on four views of the lake.

This property has shore lines facing the east and the west as well. There are docks in the front and in the back so you can watch the sun rise from the front dock and and watch the sunset from the back dock. There are plenty of chairs and three hammocks, one of which is movable, and wind chimes everywhere.

Rental Rate Notes
In addition to the rental rate, the State of Maine requires a 7% rental tax.Rental Policies
In general, please plan to arrive at around 2:00 and to depart by 11:00 on your last day, but check with me. If nobody is there before you or arriving the same day you leave, it won't be important.
1. $1,000. deposit required with reservation. Balance due to be paid in full by two weeks prior to rental start date. 2. $1000 Security Deposit required to be refunded within 30 days.
A cancellation fee of 15% of the total rental may be charged if you cancel your reservation too late for re-rental.
