Description of the Property
We called our home 'Beams and Burls' as those are the two features that you notice as soon as you step inside our mountain vacation home in Canmore. The rough hewn beams run across the main floor of the house and lead you to the magnificent river rock, woodburning fireplace with its unique log mantel containing 3 huge burls (roundish outgrowths). We are a family of six living full-time in our home which we like to rent out whilst we are away on vacation. So, as you would imagine, we have practically everything you need and more to enable you to enjoy your Canadian Rockies vacation.
Your home away from home has a very warm and cozy feel to it created by the antiques and memorabilia throughout and the abundance of wood. The main floor is mostly wide plank knotty pine and pine also covers most of the vaulted ceilings with skylights on the second level. On the main level are the laundry room with washer and dryer for your use, three bedrooms, one large bathroom, the great room and the kitchen. Upstairs you will find the entertainment room with 52 inch flat screen plasma t.v. with surround sound and office area aswell as two very large bedrooms. One has twin size beds and a large games area with an air hockey table, boardgames aswell as children's toys and books. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite or shared bathroom which boasts an original cast iron, clawfoot tub and heated floor tiles.
After a day of exploring the Canadian Rockies and Banff National Park, come back, unwind and enjoy the mountain views from our south facing back deck. Dinner is a breeze to prepare in the our large new kitchen, fully stocked with matching dishes and glassware. The children can play safely in the fenced backyard.
Our home is situated on a tree-lined cul-de-sac bordered by a creek around the corner from Canmore's flagship playground and soccer field. It is minutes from downtown with its fine restaurants, pubs, shops and a short walk to the Bow River with its cycling and walking trails.

Our home is very well equipped for a family, we have lots of toys including a doll's house, fisher price garage, lots of children's books and movies. For the older 'kids' we have an air hockey table. We also have a playpen/crib and a high chair. We have a great south facing backyard with nice lawn for playing on and a swing and rope set. For the really 'big' kids we have a brand new 52 inch plasma flat screen television with surround sound. Let us know what else you require - we may just have it!

Activities and Attractions
Canmore is a superb central location to explore nearby Banff National Park, beautiful Lake Louise and the Canadian Rockies and Kananaskis Provincial Park. All places are within an hours drive or less. How about visiting the world famous Calgary Stampede in July, also an hours drive? Or for the folk music lovers, Canmore boasts its own Folk Festival on the heritage day long weekend at the beginning of August. This festival attracts many well known folk bands and takes place half a block away in Centennial Park.
If winter sports are your passion, we are centrally located to five major ski resorts aswell as a 5 minute drive to the Canmore Nordic Centre. There is also dogledding, snow-shoeing and ice-skating, not to mention the magnificent scenery of the snow covered peaks.
