Aloha & thank you for your interest in our beachfront vacation home, the Hale Makai "Ocean House". The Hale Makai is located in Hale Koolau, a family owned & operated group of ocean & beach front vacation rental homes in Honolulu, Hawaii located in the fishing town of Hauula on Oahu's North Shore near the Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay, Kualoa Ranch, and many other wonderful Oahu attractions. We are located approximately 45 minutes from Honolulu International Airport on the North East coast of Oahu; where the Ko'olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean. Our community of single family homes, small shops, and quaint restaurants is very different from the high rise retail/ tourist center of Waikiki. With hiking trails and unspoiled reefs, we offer a glimpse of the Oahu of yesteryear with convenient access to the night life and modern pleasures of Honolulu & Waikiki.
The Hale Makai "Ocean House" is a direct ocean & beachfront vacation rental home on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii and offers breathtaking ocean & mountain views from every room. This is a spacious (1,500+ sf living area) 3 bedroom, 1 bath duplex home (downstairs) with porcelain tile floors throughout. The Hale Makai features a remodeled kitchen & bath with granite counter tops, full size stainless steel stove/range, built-in microwave, full size refrigerator, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals. There is also a laundry room located directly in the home with private coin-op washer & dryer. The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical & plantation style furniture and enjoys direct ocean views. There are two queen size sleeper sofas in the living room which allows this vacation rental home to accommodate up to 10 guests, in addition to a dining area with teak dining table and seating for six. The master bedroom has wrap-around ocean views and is furnished with elegant and tropical teak furniture with a Sealy pillow-top queen size bed. The second bedroom also has a Sealy pillow-top queen size bed and heavy teak and tropical furniture for an elegant feel. The third bedroom is furnished with two Sealy pillow-top twin size beds. All areas of the home have ceiling fans, however they are rarely necessary as this home enjoys wonderful cool ocean breezes year around.
Hale Koolau is a member of the Hawaii Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating and rated "excellent" on Trip Advisor.

Our properties are directly on the ocean/beach with amazing views. Enjoy using our custom-made stone BBQ pits (some with ocean views) and picnicking on our beach. At the end of a busy day out come back and relax in one of our 4 hot tubs located throughout our property, or get up early and enjoy watching the sunrise over Hauula Bay.

Enjoy relaxing on our expansive Oceanside yards. Hale Ko’olau has over 400 linear feet of beach/oceanfront. There is plenty of area for sunbathing on the beach or on the grassy yard. Watch spectacular sunrises while soaking in one of our nearby hot tubs. Stroll down the beach to the Hauula beach park and coral preserve for some great snorkeling and swimming or take our ocean kayaks out for some adventure. Close by are world famous North Shore attractions such as the Hauula hiking trails & preserve, Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay Resort & Golf, Brigham Young University, Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay, Kualoa Ranch and the last unspoiled "Hawaiian" style towns on Oahu. Rental Rate Notes
12.962% Transient Accomodations Tax is added on to nightly rental rate. MILITARY DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE! CALL US FOR MORE INFO! Our rates are based upon the number of nights you stay, with 3 nights minimum. For bookings of 3 nights or more $249.99/night, for 5 nights or more $224.99/night, and for 7 nights or more $199.99/night. We charge a flat rate of $2,100.00 for reservations covering Christmas or New Year's Holiday. This rate covers up to 7 nights. Additional nights are billed at the normal nightly rate. Christmas reservations must vacate by December 29 and New Years reservations cannot arrive earlier than December 29. Reservations which include both Christmas and New Years are billed a flat rate of $4,200.00 and cover up to 14 nights. Additional nights are billed at the normal rate. Other Details: All rates quoted are based upon four (4) person occupancy and are charged based upon the number of nights you stay. Absolute minimum requirement for booking a reservation is three (3) nights. Minimum requirement for Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving, Easter and BYU Graduation (Spring) is 7 nights. Minimum requirement for Memorial Day, Labor Day and Fourth of July is 5 nights. Add $15.99 daily charge for each additional guest over four (4) person occupancy up to a maximum of ten (10) people, including children over 1 year of age. One (1) parking stall is provided for this vacation home. Extra parking may be ordered through our secure online reservations system. Add a one-time, non-refundable, $100.00 cleaning fee to all reservations. Until confirmed, rates and fees are subject to change without notice. Any changes to the reservation after the agreement is accepted and the deposit is paid will be subject to a one-time $100 administrative processing charge. If you cancel after final payment has been made, or after arrival at the property, you agree to forfeit all rents prepaid except for any amount we are able to recover through re-renting the property. We reserve the right to re-rent the property for less than the amount you agreed to pay and will refund only the amount we are able to recover. No exceptions to this policy will be made for any reason.

TERMS & CONDITIONS of our November special discount vacation rentals: We reserve the right to discontinue this promotion at any time and until confirmed, the rates and terms of the promotion are subject to change. The discount will be applied only to NEW reservations taken after October 23, 2009. If you reserved one of the above vacation rentals prior to October 23, 2009 for the month of November the discount will NOT be applied retroactively, no exceptions. For resevations during the month of November, or beginning during the month of November we will discount your daily rate as calculated by our booking system, before taxes, 10% before we confrim and process your deposit. If you book a vacation rental beginning in November and it extends into the month of December the discount will apply to all days booked, including in the month of December.
