Description of the Property

This Classic Beach Cottage is two houses from the sand, the ocean, and the boardwalk. Light and bright, it has been recently renovated and professionally decorated. And now with FREE high speed DSL internet (wired AND wireless! **-see requirements below). Custom kitchen and bathroom, washer/dryer, Private Enclosed Garage, hardwood floors, and very comfortable.

The enclosed whitewater ocean view front yard (with NEW elevated half deck) is the perfect place to relax, recline, and renew. There is also a sit down whitewater view from the living room. Restaurants, a market, shops, and bike rentals are 1/2 block away. Unlike many units in the beach area, our Cabana provides an attached, secure garage. This is an important feature to ask for as most properties offer only a carport or outside space. The garage may not accomodate the largest SUVs but does fit a Toyota Highlander (a vehicle that is no more than 16 feet long and 7 feet wide will fit)

- Why stay at the Beach Cabana?

Well, to start off, when you stay with us, our property manager offers free bicycle rentals, free use of a fitness center, and free use of a business center.

Most importantly, this is a stand alone house, not a condo. No one is above you or on the other side of a wall! Mult-unit condos can be a noisy experience. While it might seem like ocean front is best, there is much less privacy when facing Ocean Front Walk, with a lot of activity up and down the strandway. Because we are "just off" the boardwalk makes for a quieter, more private location. We are well north of Belmont Park noise and traffic, and 1/2 mile south of the Crystal Pier retail area. Close enough to walk, but far enough for a good night's sleep! People who have stayed too near Belmont Park usually seek locations like ours the next time! Moreover, not all Mission Beach units are as nicely upgraded as the Beach Cabana (and not all courts are as nice as ours!

Being located on the north side of the court ensures that the private patio receives full sun all year long. This home is located on the beach side of the Strandway, 50 feet from the sand.

Competing units are often further down long (not so clean) courts, or closer to busy, noisy Mission Blvd or near Belmont Park. You will appreciate having your own private attached garage which enters through the kitchen, and your own private courtyard with sit down views of the waves! Unlike our house, many condos share common area courtyards. Expect the best and don't settle for less! In winter months, you will feel like you own the beach!

What makes this location unique is the close proximity to the ocean, the bay, and north mission beach restaurants, shops, and businesses. You can walk to everything. Easy access from Mission Beach to Interstates 5 and 8 makes for a short drive to all San Diego attractions. Our favorite things to do include renting a bike and riding around the miles of beach and bay paved bike paths, strolling along the boardwalk or walking on the sand to the jetty, and, of course, eating at the many good restaurants in the area. A small market is across the street. There are several good restaurants within 3 blocks. Our property manager is just a 3 min walk from our unit.

Truly fine dining is now as close as the Crystal Pier, at JRDN restaurant in the new upscale Tower 23 hotel. More casual dining includes nearby Gringos, PB Bar and Grill, Tony Romas, Saskas and Hooters. The nearby Catamaran Hotel offers a world class spa (massage anyone?), dining at the Atoll restaurant and lounge, or try the Bahia Belle riverboat style cruise to the sister hotel, the Bahia, across the bay. A 15 minute walk south from the Cabana down the boardwalk takes you to historic Belmont Park, with it's wooden rollercoaster and amusement park rides. In summer, stroll over to the bay side and watch the nightly fireworks show over Sea World around 9:50 pm.

***recent News: October 2007 we installed new window replacements throughout, with double hung easy glide windows, security stops allowing windows to be open, yet secure at night, dual pane glass, and screens.

High speed internet requires only a LAN port for wired connectivity (LAN cable provided) and for wireless, your computer must have 802.11 (b) or (g) wireless hardware and software which supports data encryption (standard in WIndows XP).
