Description of the Property

The property sleeps 6-8. 'Brume de l'Aube' ('Dawn Haze'), a large bright, relaxing villa located in the Luberon National Park near some of the most beautiful villages in France, enjoying easy access to the rest of Provence.

The villa is spacious (1,700 sq.ft, 150 m2) situated in a 2,000 m2 (1/2 acre) terraced garden of olive trees and lavender. It has 3 double bedrooms plus a double sofa bed, 3 bathrooms (2 en-suite). A large beamed and vaulted sitting room (500 sq.ft, 45 m2), cool in summer with luxury cream leather suite for eight and a separate large dining room (250 sq.ft, 20m2) seating eight. Terraces, open, covered and shaded surround the villa permitting relaxation and dining out of doors in all weathers. Pool, 10m x 5m.

There is a large sun terrace directly in front of the sitting room. Yet, when the sun is so hot that you only want to escape it, then the coolness of the vaulted sitting room offers respite, whilst a further terrace provides the option of lunch or dinner under shaded trees during hot summer days. The swimming pool, however, is positioned so that it enjoys the sun until early evening.

'Brume de l'Aube' is a 10min walk to the centre of Lauris, a classic Provencale village, with 4 restaurants,2 bakers & butchers & small supermarket. It is 2 miles from Lourmari, one of the most beautiful villages in France, with 12 restaurants, 2 of which are 2 Michelin starred.

The villa, on the slopes of the Luberon, is surrounded by vineyards with 5 of the most beautiful villages in France, Lourmarin, Ansouis, Lacoste, Menerbes and Bonnieux all within 10 miles, in the heart of 'Peter Mayle country'

Tennis, cycle hire and horse riding are all available in the village. Pont Royal (Seve Ballesteros designed, 40-72 euros a round), one of the best golf courses in Provence is only 12 miles. Uniquely for France, another 10 courses are within 25 miles, reached driving through some of the most beautiful countryside in Provence. There are beautiful walks in the area. The top of the Luberon, with its outstanding views, and the GR97 footpath that crests the Luberon, are only 3 miles, Bonnieux 6 miles.

The beaches of the Cote d'Azur, the Gorge du Verdon (Europe's Grand Canyon), the Camargue, the vineyards of Chateauneuf du Pape and Gigondas, together with the Roman ruins in Arles, Nimes, Avignon, Orange and the Pont du Gard can all be easily visited in leisurely daytrips. Cannes, Nice and Monte Carlo are 2-3 hours by auto-route.

There is gated carparking space for at least 6 cars, most under shade. Electric underfloor central heating in the main part of the house means it can be occupied all year round. There is no extra charge for heating in the winter, guests are simply asked to be sensible. Cleaning, linen and towels, except swimming towels, are all included in rental and changed once a week.
