Idyllic Laguna Beach Cottage Home has all the charm of Carmel, the beauty, surfing, and vegetation of Maui, Hawaii, and the fun of the TV show "Laguna Beach." The 1940's artists' colony cottage is a short 4 blocks from the center of Laguna Beach Village, Art Festivals and the Main Beach. The furnishings are all new, completely refloored in beach bleach maple hardwood, and decorated with a theme of art and the good life.(Photos are of the original furniture before Nov. 1, 2005).
Laguna Beach has first run movies, comedians, live art, performing art, and the best surfing boogey-boarding, snorkeling and scuba East of the Hawaiian Islands. The Festival of the Arts highlights artwork of 140 SoCal artists. The Pageant of the Masters recreates art in Living Human form, posed by local; citizens and artists. The Laguna Art Museum has pop-culture, and classic art, emphasizing California artists.
The yard is completely fenced for kids to play. On site laundry is in a separate laundry cottage in the backyard, and the house has its own garage and driveway.unheard of in Laguna Beach. No fighting for parking. No driving anywhere, as everything is within walking distance . You'll find your old favorite BJ's Pizza from Maui's Lahaina's Front Street, and the new Bamboo Grill. There is also the world-famous Las Brisas Restaurant overlooking the main beach cove, and the wedding Gazebo, many French and European Restaurants, and the delis and ice cream parlors of yesteryear. The most famous resident artist in Laguna is Wyland (of whale mural/dolphin fame), but there are also many contemporary, pop-culture emerging new artists, with glass, olives, strawberries, surf, palm trees, and everything imaginable coming to life in their artwork.

The most beautiful Beach in California is 4 bloacks away. Disneyland and Irvine are ten minutes away. John Wayne airport is about 15 minutes by car. Knotts Berry Farm is just past Disneyland. L.A. Zoo is 25 - 35 minutes away. Hollywood is 40 minutes away, depending on traffic. Locally there are fishing boats and cruising motor yachts at Dana Point Harbor. The neighbors are friendly, and walking all night on the beach and past the dozena of galleries, furniture marts, antiqiue stores, and clothing and current fashion shops is totally safe. Weddings are a specialty here from $92,000 at the Montage Resoprt and Spa, down to $45 for a beachside or Gazebo wedding. There is the local aquarium nearby, and the fashion Islands of Newport Beach. There are walking trails all along the ocean and hills, and lots of bike trails, jogging trails, and breath-taking scenery. We spent 3 days just walking from shop to shop, Christmas shopping in September, and eating lobster - fillet mignon, and then Philly cheese steak sandwiches, and fries. There are fresh oranges in the yard, music and flower fragrances floating on the breeze, and 2 hummingbirds in our front yard. House viewing, people-viewing, bird-rock viewing, and anything else is going to keep you captivated. Star-gazing, is also great, as Heather Locklear and Richie live in the area, as did the Ozzie and harriet, and all the great stars of local beach movies. Bette Midler moved here after the movie"Beaches."...

Activities and Attractions
Disneyland is only 10 minutes away, and Nearby Knotts Berry Farm is neighboring Disneyland in Buena Park. The L.A. Zoo in Griffith Park is 40 minutes away. Hollywood is 45 minutes away, depending on traffic. San Diego is 80 miles south, and famous for the Wild Animal Park (like an African Safari), the world-famous San Diego Zoo, and Sea World. Old Town Mexico and the best Margaritas in the world are in San Diego, not far from the famous elegant Downtown Gas-light district.
The Beach is the Center of the community. Discovered in 1903, San Francisco Artisits painted the seascapes, and word spread. Secret art colonies formed, as did summer camps on the beach, hippie communes, radical Art Groups, and the Still-standing Laguna Hotel was Founded. Helicopter rides can give you a birds' eye view of what the pelicans see every day. Lush landscapes, playful sea mammals, rugged coastline, pristine beaches, and happy, fun-loving people everywhere.
Laguna Beach is a very picturesque resort community, with everything to offer. Cliff Drive is lined with $4 to 11 million mansions overlooking the cliffs, hiking trails, beaches, and lush floral landscapes. Lawn Bowling greens jut out on the cliffs. Restaurants view the many coves, beaches, glorious sunsets and the famous Laguna Beach TV BIRD rock. FESTIVAL of ARTS: exhibits magnificent artwork in a 6 -acre canyon setting. Free daily demonstration workshops are presented in a variety of media from paper-making, print-making to Japanese Pottery. THE PAGEANT of the MASTERS: In the Irvine Bowl Park, this world-renowned festival re-creates classical and contemporary art work, posed by live people, as living tableaux. This amphitheatre presentation is not to be missed. It includes live narration, and an orchestra. Admission is $15-80. Driving into Laguna Beach's Canyon at night is like driving into an enchanted Forest brought to life with glittery lights, glowing palm trees, blazing twilight artist-colored sunsets. The feeling of being in your own fantasyland and adventureland combined is a once in a life-time experience. The town streets are safe to wander 24 hours a day, and you never see the same scenes twice. Men are dazzled by the surfing demonstartions and displays of the newest sponsored surfer gear and boards. Rental Rate Notes
For weekly rentals, we request a 2-night deposit, $100 cleaning fee, and tax. We require a one-week deposit toward the monthly rental, plus a key deposit, and a damage / cleaning deposit/fee. The deposits are non-refundable, due to the popularity of Laguna Beach and our Cottage. An extra Deposit will be charged if we allow a pet.Rental Policies
Please leave our home as clean or cleaner than you found it. All the furnishings and flooring are brand-new. Please no pets allowed. Non-refundable deposits for 2-days will hold the week, 8-days deposit will hold the month. Cleaning, key and damage deposits are separate, depending on number of keys, number of persons, and time of year. We supply the basics, paper products, laundry supplies, and cooking utensils and pots and pans, but please bring your own toilettries, foods, beverages, thermoses, and beach supplies. There are lots of books, toys, puzzles, etc, but please do not take these home with you. you are welcome to leave a good book for the next person, and they will follow suit.
A non-refundable 2-day deposit is require, plus key deposit, damage deposit (can you remember your college spring break?), and cleaning fee, depending on number of guests, ages, and time of year.
