Congo Bongo Jungle House Rental Manzanillo Costa Rica
The five jungle houses are located 200 meters from the nice white sandy Caribbean beach and is surrounded by beautiful tropical rain forest. Congo Bongo is located 4 hours south east of San Jose in the Gandoca Manzanillo wildlife refuge at the Caribbean coast. On our property of 13 acre we have many flowers, fruit and giant Rain forest trees. We have a private walkway to the quiet, unspoiled beach, featuring the beautiful blue Caribbean Sea. The best snorkeling in the area can be found right offshore. The sea water is safe and no riptide or dangerous coral reefs are reported.
The Palm house has two floors and has a palm leaves roof. It has a surface of 85 sq. meters and can keep up to 5 persons. Downstairs there is one big bedroom with a king bed and single bed, fully equipped kitchen and private bathroom with a hot shower and a separate toilet with sink. It has an open living area. Upstairs there is a big bedroom with two single beds or a king bed .
The Big house has two floors. It has a surface of 105 sq. meters and can keep up to 6 persons. Downstairs there are two big bedrooms. One with a double and the other with two single beds, fully equipped kitchen and private bathroom with a hot shower and a separate toilet with sink. It has an open living area. Upstairs there is a big bedroom with two single beds.
The Root House has one floor. It has a surface of 75 sq. meters and can keep up to 4 persons. There are two big bedrooms. One with a double and one with two single beds, fully equipped kitchen, and private bathroom with a hot shower and a separate toilet with sink.
The River house has two floors. And has a river next to the house. It has a surface of 120 sq. meters and can keep up to 6 persons. Downstairs there are two big bedrooms, with king-size bed or two single beds. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with a hot shower and a separate toilet with sink. The rooms have glass windows and are screened, that means that there is no problem with any insects. Upstairs there is a big bedroom with a king-size bed or two single beds. Also this bedroom has a private bathroom with a bathtub and a separate toilet with sink. It has an open living area and a fully equipped kitchen.
The Long house has one floor . It has a surface of 98 sq.meters and can keep up to 6 persons. There are three big bedrooms .Two big bedrooms with king-size beds and each room has his own hot shower, toilet and sink. The next bedroom has a double bed.Fully equipped kitchen and it has an open living area.
The terrace has a hammock, rocking chairs and a big porch. It has a beautiful nature view on the tropical gardens. It gives a lot of privacy and comfort. The houses can be locked completely and it has a safety box. All the beds are covered with mosquito nets and the whole house is screened. Fresh linens and towels will be provided and soaps are included.
On-Site Amenities
The wetlands and surrounding forest areas contain a great diversity of species, many only locally sited, endemic to this area: crocodiles, alligators, otters, wild bores, ocelots, pumas, pacas, sloths, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, white-throated capuchin monkeys, and numerous other species of birds, reptiles and amphibians.
Manzanillo (1km) is a small fishing village with restaurants, grocers, a dive shop and a boutique. Town children play soccer on the beach day and night in front of Maxi's famous seafood restaurant. During weekends it is crowed with local people who like to spend time on the beach and in the bar.
Puerto Viejo (14 km) there you will find a Bank, doctor, drugstore, boutiques, bars, restaurants, supermarket and nightlife. The property of Congo-Bongo is 13 acre we build five beautiful and comfortable private houses for you to stay. The comfortable houses are in the middle of the Jungle and next to beautiful and unspoiled white sandy Caribbean beach.
The private walkway to the beach (just 200 meters) leads you through the garden, full with flowers, trees, butterflies, monkeys and much more. All day you are surrounded by the sounds of creeks and birds and sometimes a group of howler monkeys will pass by. All of this will make you feel relaxed and be a part of nature yourself. The houses offering you all the comfort, privacy and safety you need in this part of the world. The area is also safe for children, so don’t be afraid to bring them along. They will love it.

Sealife : At the Carribean coast sealife is very rich an various. You'll find living coral reefs within swimming distance, as well as extraordinary kinds of fish, three different kinds of dolphins, turtles and seabirds.
Jungle :The jungle can be found directly around the houses. In the nearby Manzanillo -Gandoca national park you'll find monkeys, birds, sloths, iguanas all with a view at one of the many beautifull beaches. At the Talamanca nature is free and unspoilt. Many Indian families use the medicinal flowers and plants it provides.
