This cabin is located in the Robin Hood's Retreat area of Boulder Creek, adjacent to the Boulder Creek Golf & Country Club, 5 miles outside the main gates of Big Basin State Park and 30 minutes from the beaches of Santa Cruz. This Boulder Creek location in the Santa Cruz Mountains is ideal for people residing in the San Francisco Bay Area who want to spend more time at their retreat than time (and gas money) getting to it.

The charm of a cabin in the Santa Cruz Mountains amid the redwoods of Boulder Creek is augmented with custom stone floors, custom wood work throughout, a designer-dining area and kitchen, cathedral and open beam ceilings, and eleven skylights.

There is a spacious yet private, front deck, and a rear porch that runs across the entire width of the house and overlooks the seasonal Robin Hood Creek.

The quarter acre lot is sunny, and the house has many skylights and picture windows. Look out any window and you will see at least one redwood tree.

The master bedroom has wall-to-wall carpeting and opens onto the rear deck. It also has its own bathroom, with tub, complete with skylight.

The second bedroom contains two twin beds and has a beaded-curtain in the doorway.

The third bedroom has lots of windows, a cedar closet and a queen bed that will sleep two. It is directly off the living room, with louvered doors.

The living room has the original pine panelling and plank floors, a large picture window with custom made windowseat, and a custom stone surround for the contained wood burning stove. There is a single-sofa bed in this room, as well as a regular sofa, allowing for 2 or 3 additional people to stay, bringing the total occupancy to 8 or 9.

The overall surroundings are reminiscent of the vacation resorts of the past. You can see other houses, but the Redwoods are magnificent.

Activities and Attractions

Hiking trails and picnic tables abound just five miles down the road, in Big Basin State Park. Go five miles the other way, and you'll be in downtown Boulder Creek, with a great whole foods grocery store, deli and butcher; a fully stocked "regular" grocery store, deli and butcher, a liquor store, hardware store, antique shops and restaurants.

Explore Highway Nine and you'll find more hiking, picnic spots, parks, antique shops, restaurants and roadhouses.

The cabin is located adjacent to the Boulder Creek Golf & Country Club, where the public is welcome.

About 30 minutes away, down Highway 9, you will find the beaches, bistros and boardwalk of Santa Cruz.

Roaring Camp railroad and it's train can take you from Felton to the Boardwalk, as you travel in open-air cars through the redwoods.

Rental Rate Notes

A $100 non-refundable cleaning/linen/utilities fee is charged for each rental based on double occupancy. This amount may be higher for larger groups, stays of longer than one week or depending on intended use of the house. A refundable $250 security deposit is required, which will be refunded within 14 days of departure, provided premises are left in the same condition in which they were found at time of arrival.

Rental Policies

Two night minimum stay. Housekeeping is not included. There is a $100 non-refundable cleaning/linens/utilities fee for each rental based on double occupancy. An additional cleaning fee may be required depending upon intended use, length of stay and number of people. A $250.00 refundable security deposit is also required. Check in: 4 pm Check out: Noon Smoking is not allowed in the house. No pets. Personal checks are accepted only until one week before the reservation date. GARBAGE AND RECYCLING must be securely disposed of in the cans provided. Bungee cords must be affixed to the garbage can. Cans are to be placed by the curb upon departure. Excess garbage must be taken with you. No extra bags are to be left outdoors, due to problems with the local "critters". Non-compliance with this policy could result in a $25 fee deducted from your security deposit. Please do not leave the HEATon unless you are occupying the premises. Depending on rental schedule, we will inspect the premises on the day of departure, or at least within the next seven days. If the heat is left on at departure, there will be a $25 charge per day between departure and inspection; this fee will be deducted from your deposit. INITIAL DEPOSIT: We need to receive a deposit for the first night's stay ($200) within seven days of placing your reservation. REMAINING BALANCE + $250 refundable security deposit and applicable cleaning fee must be received as follows: Payment by Check - seven days in advance of arrival PayPal - up to day before arrival . Note: Contact us, and we will arrange to invoice you if you wish to utilize Paypal. Cash - acceptible only if owner is available to be at house for check-in. Full refund of your rental deposit will be given provided cancellation is received one week prior to the reservation date. Half refund will be given if the cancellation is received less than seven days in advance, Security deposit and cleaning fees will be refunded in full if a reservation is cancelled. Security deposit will be refunded in full provided the cabin is left in the same condition in which it was rented. Be sure to observe the garbage and heat policies, as failure to do so could result in a deduction to your security deposit. Deposit will be refunded within 14 days of departure. Cleaning/linens/utilities fee is non-refundable.
