The beautiful scenes of winter will be here soon, so enjoy the beauty of nature at The Woodin Perch in Vermont. Enjoy our rustic 4-bedroom cabin located on a well-maintained dirt road near Cavendish, Vermont. You'll even enjoy the solitude of the cabin when it rains, as you relax and listen to the rain dropping on the cabin's tin roof.

Vermont is well known for its quaint towns and villages with shops, lovely views, valleys and mountains.and we are located in the heart of it. Lots of small towns surround the cabin.

The cabin is located within driving distance of several ski resorts (Okemo & Ascutney-10 miles, Pico & Killington-34 miles). Fish or canoe at Knapp Pond or fish in the Black River (10 minutes).

On-Site Amenities

The second floor of the cabin is open to the roof peak showcasing the tongue-in-groove wood ceiling. Bedrooms are separated with 6.5' post and beam wooden walls. If you require complete "audio" privacy, however, you should know that with this type of open architecture, sounds will carry from one room to another.

The house is heated with a wood stove and propane heaters. It fully supplied with cookware, dishes, etc. Queen size bed in three bedrooms; fourth bedroom has two queen size beds.

Activities and Attractions

Excellent area for hunting, sleigh rides, snowboarding, skiing, enjoying the fall foliage and craft shows. A wooden swing set is available in the cabin yard.

Lots of things to see/do in the area: Covered Bridges, Country Stores, Beaches, Canoeing at Knapp Pond, Craft Shows, Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts, Golfing, Hiking, Horseback Riding, Historical Sites-President Calvin Coolidge State Historical Site, Green Mountain Railroad, Okemo Valley Music Festival, Vermont Institute of Natural Science Nature Center, The Nature Museum at Grafton, Horse-drawn Sleigh Rides, Snowmobile Tours, Okemo Mt. Recreation Area, Alpine Slide at Pico Ski Area, Gondola rides at Killington Ski Area, Beach at Camp Plymouth State Park.

Enjoy Fishing? Try your luck on the Black River, just minutes from The Woodin Perch. This four-mile stretch of river is managed by the state of Vermont as a “Trophy Trout Area”, one of only four in the state, with fish averaging 14” to 18”. The Black is classic New England water with an interesting mix of pools, runs, and riffles. Rental Rate Notes

Rental fees are based on 8-person occupany. For additional people, there is an additional charge of $10/person/night. Check-Out Time: Noon Check-in Time: 4 p.m.

Rental Policies

Items Needed for Your Stay: Kitchen - dish towels, dish clothes, paper towels, garbage bags, etc. Bathroom - towels, personal toiletries, toilet paper, paper tissues, etc. Bedrooms - pillows, bed linens or sleeping bags (blankets available) House must be cleaned before you vacate the premises. Garbage may be taken to the town dump at designated hours for a fee or taken home with you.

Rental fee must be paid in full to confirm reservation. A security deposit of $150 is required to be paid in addition to the rental fee, which will be returned within 30 days after rental if property is cleaned per instructions and no damaged property or missing property. Payment may be made with PayPal (preferred), money order or cashier's check.

More than 30 days prior to occupancy: Refund of amount paid less $150 Between 3-4 weeks prior to occupancy: 75% refund Between 2-3 weeks prior to occupancy: 50% refund Less than 2 weeks prior to occupancy: Any refund is at the sole discretion of the proprietors
