Description of the Property
The Harrington Hideaway is a vacation house like no other. Located minutes away from the historical town of Coupeville on Whidbey Island, this house offers not only a peaceful sanctuary, but a stepping-stone to the magical waters of the Puget Sound. This house is on a huge corner lot with a neighbor on one side and the Lagoon on the other. Upon arrival to the property you'll have plenty of parking room for your guests and your toys. (Boat, Travel Trailer, or RV.) We have an oversized driveway equipped with a basketball hoop. You can shoot hoops while a Bald Eagle soars overhead. The front and back lawns are large enough to accommodate most outside activities. A huge front deck will give you and your guests plenty of room to enjoy the warm morning sunrise and the cool evening sunsets. In the back of the house, a covered patio will give you and your guests shelter outside if the weather turns rainy, or a nice retreat from the sun on those hot summer days.
At The Harrington Hideaway, you'll enjoy peek-a-boo views of the Puget Sound, Mt. Baker, and Camano Island. Also, an unobstructed view of Harrington Lagoon, which is home to many different species of wildlife including: Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, King Fishers, Osprey, numerous water fowl, and even sea otters on occasion. Deer are often spotted in the area too. Of course here, salmon fishing is more than just a hobby, it's a way of life. If you have a boat, bring it! We have a community boat launch that you can use at your leisure. The launch will put you just minutes away from Penn Cove. This is where the world famous Penn Cove mussels are harvested and shipped across the nation. Also a few minutes away, is Whidbey's only city, Oak Harbor (by car about fifteen minutes). Here you can enjoy most of the amenities that a big city would offer but with a small island appeal. A short drive from The Harrington Hideaway is the Keystone/Port Townsend ferry. Here you can take the ferry to the Olympic Peninsula. This is a 45 minute ferry ride one way. The location of the home is unique because there are so many different things to do and see but all are either minutes away or a short drive.
The home offers an open floor plan that enables somebody cooking in the kitchen to still be a part of the action that is happening in the living, dining, and great room. This makes for fond memories of being together. In the great room, you can relax next to the stone fireplace, which boasts a gas insert to keep warm. This is the best room to view wildlife at the lagoon because it offers an unobstructed view. The great room contains two full size sleeper sofas that can pull out to sleep an additional 4 people if the bedrooms are full. The living room has a 32 inch television set and basic cable. There is also a dvd player to watch movies. Games and puzzles are made available for those who like to play. A large comfy couch will be your retreat if you need to sit down and relax. The dining room has a large square table with seating available for six. There is also more room to sit and eat at the bar (3 stools). Down the hall, the main bath offers a tub/shower combination for those in your party that prefer a bath. The home is also equipped with an attached laundry room for you and your guests to wash any clothes or linen you need. There will be a beginning supply of paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) made available along with shampoo, soap and detergent. Again, this will only be a beginning supply of these items so if your stay requires more of a certain item, this will be your responsibility (the local grocery store is only 5 minutes away). There are three bedrooms here at Harrington Hideaway. The master bedroom has a queen bed, closet, and a big dresser with plenty of storage room for your clothes. The master bedroom also offers a master bath that is equipped with a master shower, toilet, and vanity. The second bedroom has all the amenities as the master except the bathroom. The third bedroom, which is geared more towards kids, offers a trundle bed with two full size mattresses, a closet, and a dresser. In this room there is also an entertainment center with a small t.v. and a few different video game consoles to keep any kid (or adult!) entertained. Every room in the house has a window to let the sunshine and Puget Sound breeze in.

All rates are based upon a 4-person occupancy. There will be an additional fee of $20.00 per person per night. Children 5 and under are free. Check-in/Check-out: Check-in will be after 4:00 P.M. on the arrival date with no early occupancy requests. Checkout on the departure date will be no later then 10:00 A.M.
Reservations: Your reservation will be held with a credit card transaction equal to half (50%) of the total rental amount. The remaining balance shall be due 30 days prior to your arrival date. Remaining balance payments may be made by credit card, personal check, cashiers check or money order. Checks should be made payable to Whidbey’s Peaceful Places Vacation Rentals. Reservations made less than 30 days before your arrival date require payment in full at the time of reservation. Damage Deposit: Your credit card will be kept on file as your damage deposit.
Cancellation Policy: Renters are asked to be certain based upon the specifications that the property is appropriate and acceptable for their occupancy. If a reservation is cancelled and not re-rented for the cancelled period, all advance payments will be forfeited. If the property is re-rented for the contract amount all money prepaid will be refunded except a $75.00 cancellation fee. All cancellation requests must be in writing. If the property is re-rented for less than the contract amount, the refund will be reduced by the difference between the contract amount and the amount actually received. Transfers made from one arrival date to another available arrival date are allowed without forfeiture subject to owner approval.
