Description of the Property
The Yellow Cottage of La Jolla is a charming historic Victorian cottage, only three blocks from a semi-private beach, and a three minute drive to the well known La Jolla Cove. Galusha B. Grow built the cottage in 1895 as a summer vacation home. In 1980, it was relocated and renovated by a local historian and her husband. The cottage has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine and many other papers and periodicals.
The Yellow Cottage is a beautiful example of period renovation combined with modern convenience. The home is bright and cheery with comfortable furnishings. The full kitchen is complete with breakfast nook, dishes, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, refrigerator, oven and stove, as well as all kitchen items necessary to prepare any meal. There is a working gas fireplace in the living-dining area and a large dining table. The living area is furnished with a 27" TV, VCR, full cable channels, and CD/Tape player. The house also comes furnished with wireless internet access, phone with answering machine, scrabble, pictionary, puzzles and other games too.
The master bedroom is located on the second floor and has a king-sized bed, 15" TV and VCR, two closets and reading lights on both sides of the bed. The second bedroom is located in the loft. It has a full-sized bed with a twin-sized bunk above and a 15" television, and reading lights near the bed. All linens (sheets, pillows, blankets, bath towels, beach towels) are provided. There is a full bathroom on the second floor, a sink and mirror in the second bedroom and a half-bath on the first floor off the living room.
The Yellow Cottage shares a quiet yard/patio area with a neighboring historic structure, which is ideal for barbecues and outdoor dining. The outdoor fireplace is another amenity that encourages guests to enjoy the yard area. The home's picturesque front porch complete with rocking chairs, and private deck off the dining room, provide wonderful morning and afternoon locations to enjoy the Southern California sun.
Laundry facilities are located in the home for your convenience. Off-street parking is available in a private lot adjacent to The Yellow Cottage.

This home is located on the same large property as two other vacation homes. You can rent them individually or together for a combined sleeping space for 25 people. This property is a GREAT location for family reunions, weddings, corporate retreats, or large gatherings.

Rental Policies
Reservations: To reserve your dates, a deposit of 50% of the total rent is required. This deposit may be secured by providing a check, money order, Visa or MasterCard. Please note that dates cannot be guaranteed until your deposit is received. The remaining rent, plus tax and security deposit will be due 15 days prior to your arrival date. **These policies are subject to change until reservation is secured**
Cancellations: Should either party wish to cancel your reservation, notice of cancellation must be in writing or via e-mail and received more than 60 days prior to arrival date. If guest's cancellation notice is received more than 60 days in advance of arrival date, we will refund all of the reservation deposit (minus a 3% credit card handling fee is a credit card was used to secure payment). If cancellation notice is received less than 60 days in advance of arrival date and the property is re-rented at the same rate to another party, we will refund all of the reservation deposit except a $300 cancellation fee. If the property is not re-rented, we will retain the entire reservation deposit. It is unlikely, however if must cancel your reservation, notice shall be given a minimum of 60 days prior to arrival date and all monies received will be refunded to you within 3 business days of cancellation notice.
