"Bama House" as this home is known, sits on a spectacular, flat lot with 180 degree frontage and totally unobstructed views of Lake Wheeler and portions of the Elk River. It offers serenity and privacy, and looks out on nothing but open water. At the shallowest part by the dock, the lake is 17 feet deep and up to 30 feet deep at the doors of the boat house. Relax in the rocking chairs around the fire pit in the evening and gaze at the brilliance of the stars, or sit on the built in benches on the deck of the boat house and watch the schools of fish skirt by. 'Bama House is 1500 sq feet - 3 BR, 2 full baths - and is on one level. It has been fully updated--including a completely new kitchen, new cabinets, countertops and appliances--and lovingly furnished offering all of the comforts of home. The nature of this home is cheerful, bright and demands you to kick your shoes off and catch your breath for a long needed respite. It offers a peaceful, rural setting, however all amenities are a short drive away - so you can be as remote or as busy as you choose to be. Come and enjoy the best that the lake has to offer. Historic Florence, Alabama is nearby featuring first class restaurants, horse-drawn carriage rides, shops, etc. Helen Keller's home is in nearby Mussel Shoals, see the Frank Lloyd Wright House in Florence or golf at the world famous Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. These are all a short drive away. NASCAR's Talladega race track is 2 hours away. Nashville with it's many attractions is also a 2 hour drive north. Fishing tournaments are held throughout the year.
Hunstville, featuring NASA's Space and Aviation Camps, is a a short drive away from 'Bama House. While your child is having the time of his or her life at the NASA Camp, you can relax by the lake. After camp, consider bringing your child to the lake to relax and unwind.
