Cottage On Lake Crescent
Cottage on Lake Crescent, completed in the spring of 2005, is newly available to those who love a spectacular setting for an adventuresome or restful vacation. Located in the Olympic National Park on Barnes Cove at the base of Mt. Storm King, the cottage faces spectacular views of the lake and mountain ridges. Within an easy walk, through ancient forests are Lake Crescent Lodge, Storm King Ranger Station, a public boat launch, and scenic nature and hiking trails.
The cottage provides a gracious setting for indoor-outdoor vacationing: swimming, canoeing or kayaking right from the beach, scuba diving, sunning at the doorstep, a bonfire by the beach or an evening indoors by the woodstove.
Families are welcome, children 6 and older. Seniors will enjoy comfort and convenience: everything on one level, no steps, drive up to the door.
The Great Room is spacious and light, perfect for lake-side viewing. The kitchen is new, pleasing and comfortable. The bedrooms are cozy and quiet. The bath is generous and features a glass block shower. The front-loading washer/dryer can keep swim towels fresh.
Lake Crescent, 620' deep shimmering jewel, was carved by a huge glacier thousands of years ago. It rests within the northern borders of Olympic National Park, 20 miles west of Port Angeles, Washington on Highway 101. The pristine, crystal-clear blue lake quietly hugs steep mountain ridges, clad with ancient forests of western hemlock, Douglas fir, grand fir, and at the lower levels: moss-draped big leaf maples and alder.

Activities and Attractions
The cabin is just a short walk to Lake Crescent Lodge, which has a spacious enclosed deck, restaurant, boat rentals and gift shop. National Park Rangers also give fireside talks and guided nature walks around the lush old growth forests of Barnes Point and to nearby Marymere Falls. Adventurous hikes include Storm King and Pyramid Mountain for fantastic views of the Lake and beyond.
In addition to the beauty of the Lake, and just 30 minutes away, are hot springs at Sol Duc Resort or take a short hike to the beautiful Sol Duc Falls. You can explore Crescent Beach on the Strait of Juan de Fuca with it's tide pools and estuaries. Surfing is also popular there. Kayak or raft the Elwha River.
Within 1 hour is the rugged Pacific coast. Visit the wild and photogenic shores of Rialto Beach, see eagles and other shorelife. Visit the Hoh River Rain Forest. To the east, visit the 5800' high Hurricane Ridge for spectacular views of the Olympic Range and views of the Straits all the way to Canada.
Speaking of Canada, board a ferry in Port Angeles and get away to the charming sea town of Victoria, B.C..
Catch and release fishing for the famous, native, Beardsley Trout. Interested in salmon fishing? Charter a boat in nearby Sekiu and fish on the (calmer) Strait of Juan de Fuca for salmon or other species.
There are also a number of wineries in and around Port Angeles to visit. Google North Sound Wineries for a listing.
