Don't forget the beautiful beaches too. In just 20 minutes you can have your toes in the sand!
This cozy home has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and is located on a quiet street in a family neighborhood. Wave to the dog walkers from the front porch or enjoy dinner al fresco from the covered patio.

Activities and Attractions
There's lots of antiquing to be done on La Mesa Blvd plus car shows every Thursday during the summer. Don't miss Octoberfest the first weekend in October and holiday festivities in December. There are tons of golf courses around, including Mission Trails Golf Course on the edge of Lake Murray. If that's too strenuous you can rent a boat and float or fish the lake. For those wanting more to do there's a 24 Hour Fitness 3 blocks away, miles of hiking close by, and of course all kinds of watersports. Less than 1 mile from the Kroc Salvation Army Community Center with ice rink, skate park, pool and gym.
You are also just a short freeway trip to horseback riding and lots of shopping malls. There are also 3 outlet malls--Las Americas, Carlsbad, and Viejas the last of which also has a casino. Don't forget the many, many concert venues around the city, like Humphrey's Concerts on the Bay, Cricket Pavilion, and Cox Arena at SDSU. For the sports inclined there's the Padres at Petco Park downtown plus the Chargers and 9 months a year San Diego State has collegiate sports from football, basketball, baseball/softball, soccer, tennis, rowing and volleyball happening on or near campus.
For history buffs there is plenty to discover in the city 'discovered' by Cabrillo in 1542. Old Town State Historic Park offers a glimpse into the birthplace of California. Stroll around and visit the haunted Whaley House, shops, Victorian homes, haciendas, and Father Junipero Serra's Mission (the first of 21 in California along El Camino Real--the King's Highway) and Presidio. Visit Balboa Park with it's 20 museums with it's beautiful landscaping and picture perfect photo op's. Every Tuesday different museums are free. For the military minded there's the floating museum the U.S.S. Midway, a retired aircraft carrier that served from World War II through Desert Storm. The free guided audio tour takes you through several decks of the ship from the island to the officer's mess. There is also the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum located near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
For those with dogs there are plenty of parks and leash free areas around the city. Just ask.

Rental Rate Notes
$200 Deposit required at reservation, $100 of which is refundable upon vacating. Housekeeping available during stay for $60 per instance.Rental Policies
Check In time is after 2 pm local time and Check Out is 11 am local time. Accommodations may be able to be made for early Check Ins/late Check Outs but will be considered on a case by case basis. This is NON SMOKING house. Do not smoke within 50 feet of doors or windows. Dogs are permitted with prior approval. Dog owner is responsible for cleaning up after their dog. Please vacuum up excessive pet hair upon leaving. Per City of La Mesa dogs must be leashed when leaving private property except for designated leash free areas. All dogs are to be treated with Advantage or similar topical flea repellent three (3) days prior to arrival. Property owners assume no responsibility for illness or injury that may incur to pets or humans while on the premises. No more than three (3) dogs are permitted. Please be aware that the City of La Mesa only allows two (2) licensed dogs per residence.
A reservation deposit of $200 is required and must be received within five (5) days of booking a reservation. The reservation deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is not applied toward rent; $100 is refundable within fourteen (14) days of departure.
A thirty (30) day notice is required for cancellation. A cancellation made thirty (30) days or more will receive full refund of all fees paid. A cancellation made fourteen (14) – twenty nine (29) days prior to arrival will result in forfeiture of reservation deposit but refund of advance payment of rental fees. A cancellation made thirteen (13) or fewer before arrival date will result in forfeiture of all fees paid. Changes in duration of stay will be considered on a case by case basis.
