Edgington Park Model

This is a 12x40 park model next to a fishing pond in the middle of an RV park and surrounded by various trees to include almonds and pecans. There is a small gift shop behind it. It is a quiet and secure place and is approximately 2 miles North of Alamogordo, NM (35,000 pop) It is 15 miles from Whitesands National Monument, 30 miles South of the Three Rivers Petroglyphs and ther is a lot of history nearby. Billy the Kid country. Las Cruces is 65 miles due West. Truth or Consequences is about 100 miles to the West. This place sits in the basin at the foothills of the Sacremento Mountains. It is at 4500 feet in elevation and the mountains are from 9,000 to 12,00 feet. The average temperature in the winter is 55 degrees and 85 degrees in the summer with very low humidity. There is lots to see and the people are very friendly.

Activities and Attractions

Twice a year there are guided tours to the "Trinity Site" (first atomic bomb explosion) and Lake Lucero (the results of which is the massive Whitesands Monument (gypsum) also balloon festival early fall; horse racing nearby. A fishing pond out the back door of park model.
