Description of the Property
Experience the Catskills in the manner of the colonial pioneers by staying in a house that was built just a few years after the founding of America. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this unique home has retained much of its original details. Wide board floors and walls, laid stone foundation, and a patio made from stone found on the property.
This house sits at the intersection of the Catskill and Mill Creeks in the historic hamlet of Oak Hill. It has a southern exposure so you can watch the sun travel over the Catskill Mountains followed by the moon. Though this house will give you an exciting window on the past, it features modern touches such as a large DVD library, audiophile sound system, cable WiFi, Lazy Man patio grill, and a Brazilian slate shower. The house is furnished in the true Catskill country style with an eclectic and comfortable mix of antique and modern pieces. It had four bedrooms plus a sleeping loft, two full bathrooms, bar, and a large kitchen.
This section of Greene County is the most beautiful in the Catskills, with rolling green hills and numerous streams. Oak Hill is only 30 minutes from Hudson, NY, where you can have a world class dining and shopping experience. Of course, the great beauty of the Catskills is at your doorstep: breathtaking views, hiking, canoeing, trout fishing, skiing at Wyndam mountain only 30 minutes away,
This rental is an excellent choice for large families of groups because it never feels crowded and has an antique harvest table in the formal dining room that comfortably seats ten. You can gather on the patio and enjoy the outdoor fireplace, or descend the brick stairs to sit creek side and enjoy the outdoor fire pit.
