Casa Luna is a recently restored grand Edwardian historic home located a few steps from the center of San Francisco but amazingly tucked away for privacy and quiet.

This comfortable flat is professionally designed and furnished. Attention to every detail is what separates us from other vacation rentals: luxurious Egyptian cotton linens, goose-down comforters, premium firm mattresses, tasteful artwork, hand-blown Italian glass lighting fixtures, separate walk-in showers, full soaking tubs with jacuzzi jets, and European faucets and fixtures.

Bathrooms have floor-to-ceiling marble tile. The gourmet kitchen is covered in granite and modern stainless steel appliances and includes touches like a super-quiet dishwasher and a pro-series gas range. The kitchen is fully stocked for the professional chef and we can arrange for private chef services if desired. Daily made service can also be arranged.

All the basics are covered as well. High-speed (6mbps) internet with secure wireless, dedicated private phone with answering machine and unlimited calling, premium cable with movie channels, flat screen TV, DVD, surround sound, and washer/dryer. For additional an additional, private garage parking with remote entry is available. Staying with us you can be certain you will not have two major headaches most any other San Francisco apartments will have - you will not have any cold fog in the Castro (as in many neighborhoods) and you can have easy secure parking. Don't rent a place stuck in the fog with no parking.

Even though the flat is on one of the most serene residential streets in San Francisco, it's also only a half a block to Market Street. Market street is palm-tree lined, and is the main artery of San Francisco. Historic street cars run above ground and efficient subway lines run below ground. With over 365 restaurants within one mile of the apartment you can be assured of a feast for all the senses with unique boutique shops, theaters, and nightclubs as well as the everyday services you use at home, like world class yoga and fitness centers, green dry-cleaners independent book stores and gourmet grocery stores; or for solitude, just retreat to the gorgeous landscaped garden in the rear with water features and a slate patio and deck.

This home is a green property. We never use any harsh chemicals or sprays and our service cleans immaculately with all-natural products. We encourage and make it easy to recycle if you wish, and our electricity comes from renewable suppliers and on-roof solar electric panels. We feature energy-efficient appliances and all-natural fabrics in all our linens. Bed linens are 600 thread count organic Egyptian cotton. Our gardens are drip-irrigated for low water usage and we use no pesticides or herbicides. We offer organic teas and gourmet fair trade coffee, natural soaps and toiletries, even the carpeting is from an environmentally conscious company.

Once you're checked in you'll have complete privacy, but we will give you a special phone number to call that will always reach one of us if you have any questions or concerns. The owner and the manager together have traveled to over 60 countries and speak French and Spanish. International travelers are welcome.

The Castro subway station is one block away; linking you to the entire City, and BART for east bay and airport connections.

Our apartments all have their own subscriptions to the two best San Francisco magazines; so you'll know the latest, coolest happenings. The San Francisco Chronicle newspaper is delivered to the front step each morning. The bathrooms are stocked with EO Organic bath and body products. and Lavender Bath Salts for the Jacuzzi tubs. Laundry is free, and we even stock you with a full bottle of eco-friendly laundry detergent. The apartment has its own phone for unlimited free use including long distance. Activities and Attractions

Golden Gate park is a few minutes away. You can rent a row boat, roller blade, bike, visit the natural history museum, or the amazing architectural wonder of the new De Young Museum. People do surf at Ocean Beach, but I think they are crazy. A short walk from the apartment and you're at the world-class San Francisco Symphony. This season is full of Mahler and Stravinsky. The opera is next door to the Symphony, the SF Ballet is just one more door down. A.C.T. Theatre company is a short walk and the awesome vintage Castro Theater is one block from the apartment. Live music is always happening at Café Du Nord, or hang out at Martuni's for Broadway and piano bar performances. There are two top notch yoga studios, 3 major health clubs, and two days spas all within three blocks. We have four tennis courts just two blocks away, and a great hike in Buena Vista park will reward you with a breath taking view of the City. We can arrange for limo service to take you on a tour of the Wine Country. Try wines you never see outside of California. Visit family wineries, go on a picnic, see a farmers market, and drink world class cab and pinot. There are over 300 restaurants within one mile of the apartment. There are four phenomenal restaurants within a few blocks, four of the top restaurants in the City. Catch, Frisee, Sumi, and 2223 are awesome. If you consider people watching an activity, then it is an Olympic sport in our neighborhood. Sit at a local cafe with a latte and watch an amazing world go by.

Rental Policies

50% due at time of reservation, remaining 50% charged 30 days prior to date of the reservation. Reservations made within 30 days are charged in full. $150 cleaning fee is charged on all reservations. Cancellations with at least 60 days notice receive a full refund minus a $150 administrative fee. For cancellations with less than 60 days notice, 50% of the total reservation is refunded then the remaining is refunded based on our ability to re-book the apartment on the days you had reserved. We are busy and popular, so chances are good as long as we have some notice. Cancellations with less than 30 days notice will be refunded based solely on our ability to re-book the apartment on the days you had reserved.
