Festival events include parades, rodeos, line dancing, frog jumping contests, gold panning contests, art shows and Blue Grass and Country Western concerts. Also in Kernville, California, this annual festival focuses on films, exhibits and expos that celebrate green living. The Living Green festival is a 10-day event and begins during the second week of March.
In addition to screening films, exhibiting art and presenting expos, the festival hosts panel discussions about green living and various environmental issues. These panel discussions often include the festival's participating filmmakers, artists and inventors.
Living Green hosts a marathon and a bicycle event. Participants of all ages are encouraged to attend. The festival also opens with a gala dinner and ends with an art show featuring work created with recycled materials.
Each event day begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. Ticket purchases to the gala dinner and film screenings are required. Food and beverages are available.
