Listings of Pearl City Rentals for Vacations, and the Top Surf & Swim Spots

Pearl City rentals are one of the hot real state commodities on the active Oahu vacation rental market. Given the high popularity of these rentals, it is a good idea to secure your Pearl City rental with at least 1 to 2 months before your arrival date to Oahu. The island's all-year amazing weather makes it a playground for water sports enthusiasts of all ages. From open-ocean swimming to scuba diving to stand-up paddleboarding, there is something for everybody. Here are some top spots for surf and swim near Pearl City rentals: Pop's Beach, White Plains Beach Park, and Lanikai Beach.

Pop's Beach

This is a great alternative for those looking to get away from the crowded waves of Waikiki Beach. Not only is this a good spot for surfing but also for other water sports such as open-ocean swimming, scuba diving and spear fishing. Pop's Beach is a little hidden gem, mostly visited by locals, across from the Trump Tower. The surf break is appropriate for both newbies (there is an on-site surf academy) and advanced surfers. Be aware that you will need to swim out to the surf break much longer than as in Waikiki Beach. Also, you should pay attention to the local 'surf etiquette', which means that if you don't know, then you should follow the lead from locals and ask questions when in doubt.

White Plains Beach Park

Located on Kaneohe, the White Plains Beach Park's calm (yet constant) surf break allows for great surfing and swimming. There is an on-duty lifeguard at all times that divides the ocean into an only-swimming area and an only-surfing area. This makes it much easier to watch over your children swimming in the ocean. The drive to White Plains Beach Park is about 10 minutes from most Ewa Beach vacation homes and about 30 to 40 minutes from most Pearl City rentals. The parking lots is big and accommodates almost 50 cars.

Lanikai Beach

Kailua is one of the favorite destinations in Oahu of water sports fans because it maintains more of the rustic feeling of old Oahu. The beach has a beautiful view with 3 islets across the shore. The surf break around the main 2 islets is great not only for surfing but also for stand-up paddleboarding. At Kailua Town you can find several rental shops that offer special packages for single and double kayaks, which is a great alternative to surfing. Be aware that unlike other beaches in Oahu, Lanikai has neither on-site convenience stores nor restrooms. It is a good idea to pack a cooler with drinks and snacks for you and your family.

Finding Great Ewa Beach Vacation Homes is a great resource to look for one of the Ewa Beach vacation homes that will match the specific criteria of your friends and family. At you will be able to provide details on the maximum price that you're willing to pay, as well as other criteria such as number of bathrooms. A great additional feature of is that it provides matching homes in nearby areas close to Ewa Beach.
