Beautiful Point Pleasant Beach rentals are not the only thing the town has to offer. In addition to having many beaches, fishing spots, parks and shops, Point Pleasant Beach hosts unique events and festivals. Every year, many visitors make the area their chosen vacation destination.
Spring Events and Festivals
During the first Saturday of April, Point Pleasant Beach holds its annual Easter Egg Hunt. Locals and visitors are invited to the boardwalk to find eggs and win prizes. Admission into the egg hunt is free, and the hunt starts at 1 p.m. One week later, Point Pleasant Beach hosts their annual Easter Parade. It is also held on the boardwalk and is open to locals and visitors. The parade includes floats, bands and dance performances. The parade begins at 1 p.m. Registration to participate in the parade begins at 11:30 a.m. A visit to either of these events would be a fun day trip from your Point Pleasant vacation home.
Summer Events and Festivals
Every June, Point Pleasant Beach holds their annual, two-day Jazz and Blues Fest. The festival features local, regional and national jazz and blues artists as well as wine tasting and food stations. Different vendors and crafters also have booths and stations scattered throughout the festival's grounds. Admission to the festival is free; fees for the wine-tasting stations are required. Festivities begin at 12 p.m. and last until the late evening.
Throughout June and July, the town holds the Festival of the Atlantic Concert. This concert is held every Wednesday night at Inlet Beach, and the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea treats visitors to classical music performances. Admission is free.
Point Pleasant Beach throws a weekly one-hour fireworks show every Thursday after dark throughout June and July. For the best view of the show, visitors are encouraged to watch from the boardwalk. Admission is free.
The Festival of the Sea
Beginning in 1975, Point Pleasant Beach holds their annual Festival of the Sea. It takes place every September and is the town's way of marking the end of summer. Primarily, this festival is a food festival. Local restaurants and vendors set up booths and stations and offer crab cakes, shrimp, paella, lobster and other types of seafood. Although most of the food served at the festival is seafood, non-seafood options are also available.
Various musical acts and dance troupes perform on a main stage. Throughout the festival's grounds, craft and clothing vendors sell merchandise. Because it is the end of the summer, visitors can also find many sales at the local clothing stores. Admission to the festival is free. Food and drinks must be purchased inside the grounds.
