The Arts District is home to two noteworthy churches, the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadelupe and St. Paul United Methodist Church. The Cathedral Shrine features Gothic architecture. St. Paul's was originally founded by freed slaves from three states. Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts has been home to some famous graduates.
