New Orleans, Louisiana Vacation Rentals
New Orleans, or "The Big Easy" as it's known, is located near the Mississippi River's delta in Louisiana. The city is famous for its ambience, music, food and nightlife. Guests of New Orleans vacation rentals will love the French Quarter with its wonderful buildings with wrought iron balconies and colorful street life. While visiting New Orleans, travelers might want to take a ghost tour of the city. Or they could visit the historic cemetery, location of many movies, with its above-ground burial plots. Visitors at New Orleans vacation homes will doubtless want to check out the statue of St. Joan of Arc (the maid of Orleans) and the nearby French market, filled with a huge variety of items. They will also want to go to see the historic St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. Or they can take the streetcar that runs along the Mississippi to the Riverwalk Marketplace for premier shopping. Another streetcar, this one called Desire after the Tennessee Williams' play "A Streetcar Named Desire," will take visitors to the Garden District to view the large historic homes and then bring them all the way to the end to the city's wonderful zoo, filled with alligators and other indigenous animals. A day trip to one of the many former plantation homes will inspire memories of the old South as well. There are countless wonderful restaurants in New Orleans, but locals love Mother's for traditional Creole food in a casual setting.
