Outer Banks, North Carolina Vacation Rentals

The Outer Banks is a group of islands running from the northern part to the central part of the North Carolina coast. These islands have a unique quality all of their own. Visitors who stay at Outer Banks vacation rentals will doubtless want to tour the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, a pristine stretch of sand and dunes with great surf for boarding. While there, they could climb the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse for magnificent views of the fragile islands that extend so far into the Atlantic Ocean. Further north, visitors can visit Kitty Hawk and see where Wilbur and Orville Wright first flew their plane. Later on they could stop by Mateo to tour the Wright Brothers National Memorial. Those staying at Outer Banks beach rentals will probably want to rent a beach jeep to travel to Corova Beach where the wild Corolla horses run freely through the sands. These horses are descendants of Spanish mustangs and a joy to see. Guests of Outer Banks vacation homes may want to take the ferry to Ocracoke Island, which has a wonderful little village filled with shops and galleries as well as a long spectacular beach of untouched sand. There are so many wonderful seafood restaurants in the Outer Banks, but one outstanding favorite is Flying Melon, which serves the best bluefish around.
