Sun Valley is home to one of the best skiing mountains in the nation -- Mount Baldy. Mount Baldy is appealing for many reasons - it's accessible, it's moderate, and you won't have to wait in long lines (like the ones in Vail), to enjoy the slopes. Sun Valley is easier on the wallet than Aspen or Vail as well. Sun Valley features runs like Fire Trail and Upper River Run perfect for expert skiers. If you want to enjoy Sun Valley and Mount Baldy at it's best, wait for February. If you go in December you may have some trouble fighting the flocks of migrating ducks. Oh, and Sun Valley has even more tricks up its sleeve -- snow making machines. Sun Valley snow machines are among the best on the planet so even if it doesn't snow much during your visit, you will still have a wonderful (manmade) skiing experience.
